Lowrance HDS12 to Garmin 126SV experiences?

Thinking of switching out my 2 Lowrance HDS12 to 2 Garmin 126sv units. Would like any reviews from anyone that has made this switch.
    Thanks in advance..

I made the switch a few years ago and never looked backed....i had a Gen 3 and Gen 2....yes there will be some differences where one did something better than the other which you may notice at first but when you get used to using it everyday, you will get past it......i have a 126 on dash and love the unit. I'm using the GT15/GT30 combo at console. No regrets since the change.

You will probably miss your mapping and side view on the Lowrance.
I would buy one Garmin to mount up front for Livescope and leave a Lowrance at the console.
Then make your judgement after you play with the Garmin.
I know you will like Livescope.
I just prefer the Lowrance mapping, got a lot invested in Navionics.

I spent a day with the 126 and uhd transducer. They haven't improved much since they first came to the freshwater market. You need to either leave the lowrance or find someone to ride with that has a garmin system.

I say its all depends what lakes are mapped in one's area.......

I will say that i wasn't very impressed with some of the areas that the Ultra map has on my home lake of Toledo Bend. This is just my opinion compared to the detail from fishing in a boat that had the LakeMaster Plus chip. Although most of the lake is mapped adequately and the QuickDraw Contours ability is super easy to use to get a very detailed map of what is around the area you're fishing.

For sure..... On my lake the old Navionics Premium shows more features and the lakemaster is more accurate. Garmin scanned our lake and I like the ability to shade multiple ranges but don't have room for another unit on the console.

You cannot have duplicate waypoint names with Garmin, that alone will keep me from totally changing over, I run livescope on a 122, also adding waypoints from touch screen is not as easy as lowrance but I could probably get over that. Just bought a force TM so far very impressed.
