I bought this boat 6 yrs ago with a 12" Sprint manual backplate with factory installed Mercury 200 EFI. Just replaced the jackplate with a 12" Atlas and upgraded to a 2010 Mercury 225 Optimax. Never noticed the original jackplates position on transom. When installed the Atlas, realized the jackplates is 3/4 inches below the rub rail. All other boats I've looked at, the jackplates are installed up against the rub rail. Any ideas if I need to glass in the old holes and have news ones drilled and install jackplates against the rub rail?
Thanks Gene
