    Hi All
I have a 2014 Triton 21 XS with a 52" Minn Kota Fortrex and i was thinking of updating to the Ultrex. My question is what Shaft Length i should have and the pros and cons of either one, A friend of mine told me i should have the 45"
    Thanks for any help

all depends on where you fish and how big of waves,i always get a 45 but you need to make the choice

If your more of an offshore guy, you'll love a 52" as it stays in the water in the waves and you don't constantly have it coming out of the water. But if you tend to measure the depth with your rod and not your electronics you'll be better off with a 45". Your choice!

Assuming you are from Peshtigo, Wisconsin and have a 21XS, I highly recommend going with the 52" because that is a boat that can handle the big waters of green bay.

52" I would rather be able to raise the trolling motor than to WISH I could lower it.

Smaller lakes and quite water for the most part, 45" is fine but if you fish more open water and larger lakes you wont regret a 52". I've never had a problem fishing around my 52" Ultrex and it stays in the water on windy days.
