    Fortrex Bushing Replacement Question

    I purchased the bushing kit from Jones Trolling Motor and I have run into some difficulty. The screws to take out the piston pin is stuck and both of the torx screws are stuck. Any ideas on how to loosen these? I have not applied direct heat.

    Apply heat with a heat gun to break the loctite. The piston does not have to be loosen to replace the pivot bushings. If you want to though use that same heat to break the loctite.

    Thanks for the information. I was able to get the bushings replaced but when I reattached the trolling motor to the mount, the motor does not want to lock down in place and the pull rope is very tight. I have taken it apart a few times and cannot figure it out. Nay take to a service center to let them make it right.

    The bushings only go in a certain way. You may have something else going on. Good Idea to bring to ASC.
