    Raker HO prop question

I recently repowered my 201 XLE with a G2 250 HO, it is rigged with a 28 Raker HO. Holeshot is good but I'm concerned with the rpms. The most I can get is 5500-5600 unless I really trim it up up and then it chine walks really bad. I'm thinking about dropping to a 26 and figure that will bring the rpms more into the power range without having to overtrim. Any ideas or suggestions?

Fast boats chinewalk... Loose is fast! I'd leard to drive the boat to it's potential befor shopping for different props. Have someone that can drive a fast boat show you what to do.. There are some helpful videos out there.

I think the actual pitch on the Raker HO is higher than what is advertised. My 24 pitch when you run it thru the slip calculations is extremely low. If you bump the pitch up 1 or 1.5 on the calculations then the numbers make sense. your 28 might be a 29 or higher.

I have driven boats that chine walked but it's a whole new experience with the power steering! I really don't care about running as fast as possible( past that a long time ago).

When you prop a boat, You should be able to trim up to its full potential speed and be near the limiter. Since you cant drive it to those speeds safely, It's very hard to offer advice.

"You should be able to trim up to its full potential speed and be near the limiter", so this my issue. I ran the boat and the most rpm's I got was 5500-5600 and I don't think that's in the power range. I guess my question should have been how many rpms would I gain by going from a 28 pitch to a 26 pitch?
