Fuse panel circuit breaker on crank battery

Should my 2002 have a circuit breaker at the cranking battery on the wire (10gage I think) going to the fuse panel at helm? If so, can you tell me what size and type you have? Thankyou

Generally the helm is fed via the outboard, and there is a fuse inside the motor.
If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,
    nothing else matters.

As far as i can tell on mine with the dash "touch pad" switches, the 10ga wire provides power to the Carling Control box (right side of photo), which then sends current to the fuse panel for the accessories. If I unhook the wire at battery, the panel and everything is dead. If that's correct I'm wondering if the previous owner maybe removed a breaker at the battery end, or is/was one needed to protect that wire?

Breaker or a fuse. Mine has a fuse right off the battery.

Can you tell how many amps? And is it one of the little "grey box" type? Many thanks

Thanks CatFan....Yes, my outboard feeds the key switch and everything with "key on" power. But the wire I'm talking about feeds the fuse panel/touchpad for all the pumps and fishfinder(s) when switched on.

    McQ,
Looking at your photo's, the power to the spade terminal box is the first 25 amp fuse.
If it pops, your touch panel will go down.
The other box is powered by a 12v feed and provides the different voltages and signals
that run different accessories and gauges and such.
Just my opinion, any fuse is a good thing! good luck.

Thanks OKBass....that's correct. So unless someone says different, do you think I should add a 30a breaker to the wire at battery to protect that wire?

It can't hurt, If you feel that it's needed.
    My 2019 fx 21 250 sho doesn't have a inline fuse.
