    2003 TR-21 can't get on plane.

    2003 TR-21 with a 225 Honda 4-stroke, manual jack plate, 3 blade Power Tech prop 22 pitch.

I know the motor is already extra heavy and I added a 4th battery for a 36V trolling motor. When the livewells are full and 3/4 tank of gas with 2 people it does not want to get on plane. If my rider jumps up to the bow for a minute it gets on plane. The manual jackplate is up near the top. Should I lower the jackplate? The motor already sits low in the water because it is so heavy.

I am not a tournament fisherman so not a problem when I keep my livewells empty.

    Thanks for the input.

A 4 blade prop could help. But more importantly whats your prop to pad and rpms? Might need to drop motor some.

I have same year and same motor. Same problem. If livewell has one side full, no go.

My pad to prop measurement is 4" to 4 1/8".

Raise it to 2 1/2" below pad and report back after you take it to the lake.

I only have about 1" left to raise to the highest setting on the jackplate. Does a lower PTP help with hole shot?

What is your prop to pad at that setting? Your motor is mounted to the plate at the deepest setting. You may not be able to get up to 2 1/2 or 3 below like that.
EDIT: I know I don't have the same motor, but for reference my Yamaha is mounted to the plate in the 4th hole down and is about centered on the plate adjustment at about 2 3/4 ptp

I would raise the motor 3 more holes and lower the jack plate to get it to 2 1/2"..

I raised the motor 2 holes and set the jackplate at 2.5' prop to pad. I was able to get on plane with 2 people, 2 full livewells, and 3/4 tank of gas. Still had 25lbs of water pressure. Thanks for the input.

WOOD TRIM.jpgDo you know how to remove this plastic wood trim piece. I see your online now? I feel sheet metal screws behind it. But I think these are for the black rubber piece around this plastic wood trim. Does this piece just pop off
