The 190tx everyone seems to likes the x7 19p I would sure like to see results on them with this ballistic. I never thought i would see 49mph with my 195 with a 115. With the blade shape it seems to keep rpms up allowing a bigger pitch. I wish they had a 20p.

I tried it out again today on calmer water, I had the RPMs maxed out to where the alarm was going off and I could still only hit 40 mph, the 21" pitch black max has to go for sure. I am going to try to find a used 22p laser 2.

It sounds like your just cavitating with the aluminum prop trimmed up like mine was slipping at the highest trim and causing your rpms to climb without gaining speed. As soon as I went to ss i gained speed when i trimmed up and rpms didnt climb as much because it wasnt slipping as much. Also the laser 2 is bigger in diameter so that will keep rpms down too.

I got a 22 pitch laser 2 part # 4816992 A40. It has a solid rubber hub instead of the flow torque hub, it fits on fine but isn't tapered like the bottom part of the shaft is, do I need a tapered spacer to make it work?

I am pretty sure I just need a different hub thrust washer but I am not sure which one, my old one is to big for the Laser prop.

If your old thrust washer isnt tapered to fit the tapered part to fit the shaft they do make one for it ...the black max thrust washer i had wasnt tapered but the thrust washer for my other props are

Found the right hub kit and installed the Laser 2, going to try it out this weekend.

Tried it out today and the results were disappointing, top speed was still 40mph and it took about 3 times as long to get on plane. From a stop when I give it full throttle it over revs and sets the alarm off, I had to hold it at part throttle and 5,000 rpm or so and eventually it would pop up out of the water, RPMs would drop a little once I plained out but at full throttle trimmed up to max RPM 40 mph was still all I could do, and at that speed it didn't handle as well as it did with the aluminum prop.

Would getting plugs for the vent holes help?

What is you prop to pad measurement. If your alarm went off from a dead stop your prop sounds like its too high causing it to over rev when you take off. My ballistic prop didnt like anything under 4.5ptp and did the same. Mines at 4.75 and that's when the cavitating from a dead stop quit. The laser 2 also doesnt have much cupping the powerertech nrs3 may have been the better option

The engine is mounted in the 2nd hole from the top, not sure what the actual prop to pad measurement is, I'll get that this evening.

Yeah working with your setup might be a better option than throwing money at props. Something is bad wrong right now.

I just realized you have vent holes in the laser 2 with no plugs...the holes allow the prop to spin faster at lower speeds on take off, which would/could cause it to over rev. The faster you go the holes seal off and they don't hurt or help.

Prop to pad is around 5.75", I also ordered vent plugs for the Laser 2.

The plugs will probably solve hole shot...top end speed the motor may need raised but that will bring up rpms so hopefully you can stay under max. If not cup would have to be added to the laser....when I raised my motor one hole to 4.75ptp I saw a big increase in top speed

I am going to put the plugs in and raise the motor so it's in the 3rd hole from the top. From what I have read that seems to be where these boats perform best without having a jack plate.
