    smart craft

    i had a one of the square mercmontior on my efi will that one work on a

    2012 225 pro XS
    Model. 1225P73ED
    SERIAL 1B904110

    If it's square it's a System Monitor, but if you have an existing functional Smartcraft network, then yes.

    The small square unit in not a Mercmonitor. It is most likely a System monitor. It will work just fine but it is old technology. I do believe it will need a reset though. If you decide to get a Mercmonitor, it will be very easy to install since the data cable is already run.

    +3 on what you have being a System Monitor (First Generation of Smartcraft, released in 2000). Might consider something a little more modern, such as a MercMonitor, Vessel View Link or Mobile, etc. as they have a LOT more information to offer you.

    So Don i could just run a MercMonitor with a data cable would be all i need to do ?

    You would also need either a Junction BOX or a Junction Adapter (at a minimum).
