185v engine setup

i have a friend with a 185v 175hp johnson with 6"jackplate.do any of you guys have your numbers on prop to pad setup for best performance on your rig.also if set up correctly what is going to be his top speed with 2 people.thanks guys

Start at 3.5” prop to pad. Not sure on prop but I’d lean to a 24 or 25 raker. I’d expect 63-65 gps loaded.

+1 ^^ good place to start.

On my VX, I am 3-1/8" with a Tempest plus and 3-7/16" with a Fury. Pretty much only run the Tempest Plus (24 or 25P) as it lifts the VX hull the best and will outrun my Fury; but the holeshot and midrange on the Fury are nice.

I'll run 63-64 with 2 people and tourney load; 67 by myself, and half a tank. I am also running an 8" Vance JP.

Your final numbers will all depend on how that Johnson turns the prop.
