I had a 2008 Sierra that I drove until it died. I replaced it with a 2017 Sierra and drove it until some ignorant, self absorbed person decided to broadside me while texting and driving and totaled it. I then bought a 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn. I test drove GMC, Chevy, Ford, Toyota and Ram before I made my decision. Toyota and Ram made the top of my list with RAM winning out. Once I drove the RAM, I was blowen away and how much better it was than a Sierra. I got more truck for less money and couldn't be happier.
4th Ram and no complaints. Denali would be sweet though I'm sure.
Thanks for the feedback. I am really torn between the two. The Ram does seem to have a better ride but the GMC has some equipment and features that I like that the Ram does not have.

On the GMC, the leaky rear window was an early build issue. I have a 2/2019 model and no issues.

Ram wouldn't own a GM product.
Never ever thought I’d be in a ram but here I am sitting in a 2020 ram Laramie looking for reasons to drive it. Always been a GM guy but loving this ram. Surprised to hear GM having rear window leaks because Ram is having big problems with the rear window leaking themselves but not mine...yet. I have not heard of issues of putting gas in them. Love the interior!

I've driven both, and If the gm is a 5.3, the ram will make it feel slow

I have a 19 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 with 16,000 miles on it. I never had any issue putting gas in it. It's great truck, does everything well, and has more features than I need.
Have owned a Chevy product since I was 17...I am now 67. After this crap they have pulled with arguing about retooling for our pandemic I will never buy another GM. I currently own 2. For me it all started with GM pulling out a plant in the USA and taking it to China. Now their inability to work with the American public with the virus is the final straw.
Have been looking at the Ram 1500 for a few months now...it will definitely be my next vehicle.

Ram hands down.
I've had a Ram since 2012, hasn't been in the once! Still ticking. I decided to upgrade, and would have bought another Ram, but they didn't make a 1500 with a 6.2 engine. Always like the Denali's, so I got one, a 2019. So far so good, only 3400 miles on it. I can tell you this, it pulls the Ranger like a dream. About as solid a towing platform as a man could ask for. That 6.2 is beast of a motor! It will easily do 80mph uphill pulling that heavy Ranger!

2019 Ram Longhorn long-bed 28k, 3rd Ram and never an issue. The new design is a Cadillac for a truck, and the Hemi gets thirsty pulling the boat, but it has plenty of power. Waiting to see how the new diesels pan out, very interested in the same truck.
Well I'll just say based on the current lineup I would go with the Ram. Current vehicles all bought new, a 15 Z71 Silverado, 02 ss Camaro and a 2020 Expedition that we traded a 09 Tahoe for. My previous 2 pickups were a 99 Ram pos and a 02 Ram that was pretty good when I traded it in on the 15 Silverado. It's a roll of the dice.

While I have taken both of these trucks for a test drive I have not pulled the boat with either. My impression is that the GMC will be the stronger choice given that 6.2L engine. My current Avalanche is a bit of a dog in that regard and the Denali is much stronger. The Ram 5.7 is better than the Avalanche by a little but is behind the Denali.
Is that a fair assessment?
