    another stupid transducer question/Wayne

I bought a new helix 12 chirp mega SI gps……#410380-1.....transducer included is XM 9 20 MSI-T....My stupid question is which in hull for high speed readings can I use. Humminbird has made it pretty confusing the last few years , when I installed my 1197 there was 1 transom mount transducer and 1 shoot thru hull, even a stupid retired truck driver like me could figure it out, without having a electrical engineering degree. thank you

The 9 and 20 are the common denominators for compatible transducers. 9 for connector type, and 20 for 20 degree spec coverage of 200 kHz.
    XP is the shoot-thru model.

XP 9 20 is the shoot thru for both models you have.
But you have to change the Y cable since MEGA SI transducers have a DI piezo and the 1197 does not. 9 M SIDB Y

You may want to change the shoot-thru to a newer one. They wear out over time and don't perform as well as new.
The Helix will be CHIRPing it also unless you turn CHIRP off.
