    Single Power Pole; What Side?

I looked for this question but could not find anything...

For a single power pole mount, what side do you mount to; port or starboard? I'm thinking port (left) side to offset my weight. Granted, I'm 180, and this will be on a dual console Fisher fiberglass boat.

I'll probably be going with just the 8' Sportsman.

    Thanks!

We like to recommend to our customers a single pole be mounted on the port side, number one to offset the weight as stated , but the second reason is it is easier to look and see if it is up before taking off. only reason i would not put on port side is if it will interfere with a boarding ladder
