    Help with TR-196...

    I have a 2004 TR-196 that has a 2004 Mercury 200 on it.
My prop is a Tempest Plus 27.

I can’t get but around 5,000 RPM from this prop.

Engine has 144 hours on it and was checked out 2 weeks ago, and all is good.

Is this the prop that I should be running?

    Thanks,
    Lonster

I agree with Buster, try a 25p and you should see results.

I ran a 27 tempest and a 26 trophy on mine no prob when I had it. It sounds like you are either down a cylinder or have a hot foot that isnt adjusted correctly. I did have an efi though and not an optimax. Strong motor. Ran 72 with 2 people in tournaments

You probably need a 25 Tempest, is your engine a 3 liter or 2.5?

Need to know if it is a 200 Optimax, a 200 Pro xs, or a 200 EFI

Exact same year, boat and motor here - and I agree, you have too much prop.
