Depends on your definition of low cost....just because it’s been buffed does not mean it can’t be brought back. I’d get some pics up and let’s see what you have. No fast/easy “stuff” to make it shine.

I'm currently in the process of the wet sand/ nu paint/ and polish process from ProTec. I don't think there is a much cheaper and better option. My boat wasn't very bad, only in a select few spots, but it is amazing how good it looks. Lots of info on here about it and some videos on there site are helpful. Very happy customer.
Just finished wet sand 1000, 1500, 2000. I chose Meguairs boat restoration kit. Buffed the oxidation remover with wool pad, then used foam pad with the polish, and lastly waxed by hand. Took me most of the day and a lot of sore muscles. But completely worth it. 1999 Ranger looks nearly showroom new. Total cost including the harbor freight buffer was around $100. I highly recommend this for anyone with a faded or dull gelcoat. I will try to post some before and after pics. The first pic is the before with no shine and no flash of the metal flake. The overall feeling of the top cap was dull and rough. The other pics are today after I finished. Lots of flash and smooth as glass now. If you want more details just let me know. Their is a ton of great info on here for boat restoration.

Looks great! Good job
I just wet sanded my Shadow that was about 20 years overdue. Had to go to 400 in some places. Then 1200, 1500, 2000. Buffed with clear coat safe buffing compound. Then used pro tec restore. Very satisfied. Still have to seal it. The pro tec stuff goes a looolong way. Might be worth trying it before you go the wet sand route.

I would be lying if I said it was quick and easy. Lol I just picked up my 02 triton Xp a couple weeks ago and had very bad oxidation I’m still working on it along with doing other things to it but I am very happy with the outcome and can’t wait for it to be done. Working on interior and is very time consuming. Here is what I did
-wet sanded with 1000 & 2000 grit ( cleaning in between each step )
-buffed out with compound
-then added protective wax.
here are few pics before and after it’s not completed but almost there.

Thank you
Looks outstanding, Hawg! My 2001 Nitro 896 needs the same treatment on the top cap. It is worst from the bow to about half way back. Would be the first time on this boat.
is this the type of thing i would need to be doing to recover appearance lost from an engine mechanic leaving my rig in the yard for 3 months? every flat spot on my boat is opaque milky white cloudy and looks awful
2005 Triton here. This boat was hammered when I got it. Because of my auto body shop I'm a 3m guy and always have been.
