Risen From The Ashes!!
I am going to install and run it immediately. Thunderstorms today, so might be tomorrow before I get on the water. Someone said all it does is roll the GLS10 back a version, but I see it is GLS10 version 2.33, which is new.
I'm guessing it is a partial revert of changes in the v2.30 GLS10 update. All Garmin mentions is "Restores GLS10 gain tables to v2.20 version" in the v2.33 changelog.
Interesting. Kudos to Garmin for continuing to make perspective view best in class.
Without knowing what’s in the program, I would guess their work is focused on how to translate the angled reflected sonar into the usable image. Each array, varying distances out, requiring varying gains. It wouldn’t surprise me that it’s much more difficult that straight out or down.
jawjatek - interested with results and system you are running.
Watch, everyone will not want to update now...

I didn't do the update to begin with I don't think. I saw it on my Active Captain and it started down load on my phone and I switched the app off but yesterday I had the ghost tree in my Livescope returns. I forgot to look to see what versions I am running. Now my question do I go ahead and update: 1) Do I update with Active Captain or Do I use a hard disk. I only have a Mac. Sorry for all the newby questions but don't want to make a bigger mess. Thank you
I have it on a sd card now we will see
I have a EmU 102sv with the PLS, no transducer - Livescope only. Got rained out today, but am going to Lake Oconee tomorrow for crappie, and I'll try out the update then. My buddy has a GPSMAP 1242gsv and he upgraded his as well. He lives on a lake and is fishing right now.
I'm going fishing even if they lock down the state - I've made up my mind. I've made arrangements to keep my boat on the lake at a friend's dock, if needed. For me, fishing is essential.
Wish I could get my hand on version 2.10...
You don’t save every version? Most do.
That was the original version that came on my GLS10. I have the updates since then stored but don’t have the original. Unlike some of the others, I started having issues before the perspective update.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.
Updated mine and went to the lake. Very little improvement. Spent 3 hours trying to adjust. Have been using ls for a year.
Not sure if this is related but see theres an active captain update to 18.1 that says “fixes error with downloading software updates”. Released 3 weeks ago which is about the same time as the livescope issues and update
Guys on Facebook are not happy
I am still curious if the people with the "ghost tree" used Active Captain or an SD card to update.
I used an SD and my screen looks fairly good.

How does it matter if the update is copied to an sd card on your pc or sd card in your phone which is used from AC app??
