    Question Stay at Home order

So, would going to Patoka Lake be considered an essential outdoor activity? It’s not like I would be around people.
I think it would be the same as getting Take Out for dinner. What do you guys think?

As of 8:00 am this morning, Monroe ramps are open. No courtesy docks yet. This is all subject to change BUT was told ramps now open. per Paynetown DNR No personnel working the gates either

I've been wondering the same thing. My county is on level 2, which means "essential" travel only, as are other counties, not too mention the entire state is on that stay at home order. I don't know if I could get stopped or not. I'd agree that fishing would be optimal social distancing.

The "order" doesn't mean anything, just a feel good gesture, go fishing.

Throw a couple crappie in the livewell and say you're getting food.

Lots of big bags caught both Saturday and Sunday of this past weekend at Patoka. Couple 20 lb bags weighed in, they're chomping.

Talked to local CO yesterday. He said to go fishing as long as not around a crowd of bodies.

Essential activities listed by in.gov included "outdoor activity".

I am taking PTO tomorrow (I need a mental break from this crap) planned on going to Patoka but thinking I may stay close to gain 2 hours fishing time vs driving round trip.

You could tell the DNR the bass in your live well is food also. What you do once you get back to the ramp could be entirely different.

Let us know how it went, I'm interested to know if the CO's are out stopping anyone/telling them to go home. Thinking of going this weekend, weather permitting.

Talked to a sheriff deputy, he said this restriction is total bs, nothing to keep you from fishing. State cops made a statement today saying that they are not stopping anyone to see if essential travel. Go fish!

Friend of mine tried to fish West Boggs for Bass as he fishes the USA Bass Tourneys there. Parking lot was so packed no place to park when he came off the lake. He got there at dawn, fished 3 hrs, caught one keeper Bass and a couple of shorts, couldn’t find a place, to fish anymore, came home. I went to Lake a Lemon to crappie fish, pure mud,,,you needed a chain saw to cut it. Fish were scattered at all depths. 52 degree water, I got off the lake about 10 am and by then there were 35 or so rigs in the parking lot and as I was going down the road home, they were thick going to the lake. Nobody was catching anything there due to worst mud I have ever encountered there.
