    Black marine Tex?

Looking at using some marine Tex to repair some spots on my hull. I’m having a hard time finding black color. Does grey dry black or do I need to buy some kind of additive to put with it to make it black?

    thanks for your help

I bought some Evercoat color agent to mix with the white Marine Tex, but haven't used it yet. Of course after I bought it, I'm not sure if it will even work.

lit will work though if you read the marine tex instructions any coloring agent weakens the epoxy some. But repairing holes etc should be no issue

I used the evercoat and couldn’t achieve a true black not even close really....Best was dark gray. Afraid to add much more because of the weakening.

That's what I was seeing, so never tried doing this.

Just a thought but I found some auto touch up paint that dang near is a perfect match for my stratos. Depending on how big the area is You may want to try painting the marine Tex with auto touch up paint. It has been a few years and the areas above and below the water line still look great.

Dries gray if you don't do anything to it. Or dimple it and use gel coat on top of it
