My second gen extension pole Livescope pole with adjustable Perspective mount

Hey, I previously used the typical pvc pole, now I upgraded. It uses an extension paint pole with a ratcheting vhf antenna mount I had around similar to this one from Amazon. I have a somewhat high freeboard on my center console boat, more so at the bow. My pvc pole was long... this one easily compacts down when not deployed and adjust to the length I choose from 4-8 feet. I like it so far...

might there be excessive flex under way with that length, or do you plan to use stationary only?

Well, you certainly are imaginative and talented but I don't know how this is an improvement over $10 worth of PVC and the Garmin bracket that will be out soon. Seems like the factory mount will get here just about the time the weather starts to cooperate.
I'd love to have something that's robotic and can adjust everything from the bow but that would be pretty expensive.
Have fun with your project, you got talent for sure.

    The pole is fiberglass/aluminum
and is of smaller diameter than the pvc and doesn't flex significantly at freshwater trolling speeds, less than the pvc I was using. These were parts i had around the garage, it would be pretty expensive to purchase the ratcheting antenna mount (though there are cheaper versions) just for the mount. The pole being able to collapse and lengthen is nice for stowing. Part of the length can be used above the gunnel to easily reach to steer it while standing, particularly on the bow. It can easily be slid up and down through the mount where the ram mount attaches and you only extend it to the length you need. I would like to route the cable up through the center of the pole but the connector size prevents that and i am not quite ready to splice that cable just to do it.
While I have not experimented with it, from the videos I have seen it may be beneficial to adjust the perspective angle depending on the depth in perspective mode.
