The new 2020 Megabass Destroyers - Full list of all the new models!

So, there's new line of Megabass Destroyer models coming out this summer (June?). I got a full list from some sites in Japan! This line is allegedly not replacing the current Destroyer rods, and there are no "updated" versions of rods like the FMJ/Javelin/ETC. This is an entirely new lineup with new tapers.

Fun fact: I heard that Chris Zaldain had ZERO clue that his name was being slapped on some of the models in this series. It was apparently a surprise to him that he has some 'signature models' in this lineup.

    Casting:
    F1 6’3” Popx Stick
    F2 6’ Criffhanger Thrilling
    F2.5 6’11” Kasumi Six Eleven
    F3 6’1” Bait Finesse
    F3.5 7’ Z-Crank Elseil
    F4 6’5” Oneten Stick
    F4 6’6” Cyclone
    F4.5 7’1” The Dark Sleeper
    F5 6’8” Blade
    F5 7’ Madbull
    F5.5 7’2” The X-Bites
    F6 6’6” Killer Code
    F6 6’9” Super Destroyer
    F6.5 6’7” Tachyon Shaft
    F7 7’ Tequila Baccarat
F7.5 9’ I.C.B.M. Lake Biwa Long Distance Edition

    Spinning:
    F0 6’3” Kirisame Ultimate
    F1 6’6” Kirisame
    F1.5 7’2” Baby Plugging
    F2 6’6” Whippet
    F3 6’11” Landsat
    F3.5 7’2” Wind Buster
    F5 6’5” Kirisame Kameyama Special

It looks like they made a significant change in the handle design on the spinning rods. I don't know if i like LESS material:

I’m with you on the less grip/cork material on these...not a fan. I can’t believe how many 6 ft rods they have added to the line up. I haven’t owned a rod shorter than 6 ft 11 in years. I will stick with what I have now.

The 6' rods are super popular in Japan. I'm guessing this line will be mostly targeted to the JDM market.

Those are JDM models which explains a lot of shorter rods. There is no true timetable right now on release dates. Some models may find their way into the US lineup at some point though no final decisions have been made. This was posted on Tackle Tour a month or two back. Gary at the Tackle Trap will be taking preorders when he gets the go ahead. I also would not take the Zaldain story as fact unless you hear it from those in the know like Zaldain or MB itself. These rods were also included in the new MB catalog that dropped a month or two back.

I am looking forward to trying a few of the new models out for sure.

The Zaldain story is 100% true. PM me if you'd like to confirm it.

I’m sure you will probably get your hands on these before any of us so I look forward to seeing your take on them.

There are several great new things coming from MB just as soon as this virus mess settles down a bit and everyone can get back on track. Pretty pumped about what we have coming out

F5-70X Madbull and F6-69X Super Destroyer. Both of these models will be priced higher than the standard line up. Mark is correct, The Tackle Trap will have these up on the website and available for pre-order once a more concrete picture emerges regarding availability dates. I see a few models in there that I will get as soon as they show up!

    This one is interesting..

    F3.5-72XS Wind Buster 7'2" Med-Light Med-Fast 6-16 1/4-5/8 $475.00

2" longer (but same power) as the Orochi XX Shakeyhead? Sounds promising for a finesse stick.
