another good inexpensive whisky that compares with another popular Tennessee whiskey that has a no 7. Is Ezra Brooks.
Ezra is not bad if you're on a tight budget. I keep some on hand for mixing whiskey sours, etc. Just finished a bottle of 1792 (can you tell?). I give it a "not bad" but for a few dollars more I can usually get a Jamesons Caskmate Stout for drinking neat. For $5 more their Black Barrel is also pretty smooth but once you get into the $40 range, there are a lot of good choices and I wouldn't consider that bottom shelf range

That is the stuff. I had never had wild turkey until recently and I cannot believe how good it is for the money.

Macnaughtons Canadian Whiskey is a poor mans Crown when mixed with coke. Doesnt give you the shivers like a shot of Black Velvet does

Ezra Brooks is a good poor mans Jack imo.

I’ll go with Dickel off-white label and 1792.

My everyday bourbon is Jim Beam. Others I have and enjoy is Devil’s Cut, Woodford Reserve, Elijah Craig, and 4 Roses Single barrel. Some old ones that are still very good are AA, Old Forrester and Old Crow

I have had a bottle of Crown XR in my liquor cabinet for years, it is still in the tan bag inside the box. Everyone can pour a glass at my funeral.

Woodford Reserve is damn good budget buy! On a tighter budget believe it or not Wild Turkey 101 is very hard to beat for the money. It really was a surprise.

Benchmark #8 isn't bad for the money. Jim Beam white label is probably the best mid level of the bunch for my tastes.

Angels Envy is available in Maine this winter. Go treat yourself. There are very few bottles available in the Bangor area but there are still some around

Currently have three in stock and being tested, Evan Williams 1783, Buffalo Trace and Jim Beam Black Label. In that order, favorite to least favorite, FWIW.
