I own several G Loomis rods, but without a doubt, I prefer my Fitzgerald flippin stick .

what kind of cover are you going to be targeting most ranger dawg? for pitching to laydowns and just general stuff like docks the expride 7'2 hvy is a good one from shimano. if your punching or going into hvy cover the expride 7'11 xh is a good choice its very powerful. they added a new model as well its the 7'6 xh but not sure if it is out yet.

The 894 has been in my hands for a long time. I fish Florida mostly. What I like about it is that it fishes in most ways like a MH rod yet it has plenty of backbone for about everything besides punching matts. I have new zbone 7'10 true punching/flipping rod that is super easy to fish all day long but somehow that extra 5 inches and bit heavier rod not something I'd pick up over the 894 unless I need the power and length

I would put the Fitzgerald Titan HD way up on the list.

I would agree 894 is a great 1/2 oz. flipping rod wood rock etc. but I tried to make it work punching big weights but is to flimsy for my liking. I use old all stars for punching I have several 954,955 imx but I prefer 7’-6” all stars they work for me. I use 894 a lot for casting Senko, paddle tail worms, football jig, Texas rig, frogs, mainly fishing heavy cover casting.
