Good morning fellas. I’m looking at getting an 05 Charger 486. Are there any specific areas to look at? How would you rate the boat as a whole? This one has a VMax 250 on it. From the pictures, it looks like a nice boat, appears well taken care of. Price isn’t bad.
I currently have an 00 Cobra 201D. Looking to go a little newer.
I've got a 2014 496 and have no complaints. The ride is exceptional which is exactly why I bought it. As long as the Yammie checks out you should be good to go on a great riding boat.

I think it was 2006 when they went all composite so the transom on the '05 would be wood encased in fiberglass. I have not heard of chargers having problems with rot so it should be fine but would be an area to double check to be sure.

Thanks for the input. I went and looked at the boat. I can say that it did not live up to the pictures. It was a very rough boat, condition wise. Even the salesman agreed. They were asking about double what it was worth. Decided to hang on to my Cobra 201 for a bit longer.
Bummer! Good ones are hard to find...
