I had the opportunity to spend a full day around, driving and demo’ing the new 204 this past weekend at Guntersville/Bassmasters Classic. Would like to thank all the folks that stop by to see what Ballistic boats are all about! We enjoyed spending time with each og you, and showing off our great products!
204-The deck is square almost...10” wide at front of carpet that 223. My 223 feels huge..the 204 is next level room! From outside of boat, it looks just like a little smaller 223. The new flush mounted/recessed 12” graph up front really cleans the boat up in the nose area. I spent few a bit of time trolling the boat looking at the graph to see if the sun would wash the screen..it stayed bright and clear the whole time. Rest of boat is just subtle changes here and there from 223.
Driving the boat-It felt/handled smaller too me than it really is, quite a bit small feel than 223. The ride of the 204 really surprised me..while the 223 rides incredible, the 204 seemed to ride just as good if not better...seemed to cut the waves a little softer is only way I can describe it. The 204 handles like a small sports car, but rides like a Caddy!
I know this is short review and I’ll give a better one when I get little more time in boat-I just know this..likes it’s big brother the 223, the 204 fit, finish, fishibilty, space, ride, drive and speed is a new bench mark in the under 21’ boat division. Jim Wells will have to work hard to keep up with building these boats, as these boats are true game changers in the fishing boat market!
