    Opinions on 2004 TR196?

I’ve owned one Triton before, it was a 2009 21HP Pro, I really liked that boat.

Recently I purchased a 2004 TR196 in excellent shape with a 200 Mercury with 244 hours on it.

What can y’all tell me about this hull?

It seems to drive and ride much like my other Triton did.

    Any comments/info will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Lonster

I have an '05. Great boat. Fishes very well. Handles Guntersville wind well. Rides great. I had to learn to drive it and that's not a bad thing. You'll get 70 - 74mph depending on load.

I had an 2004 TR196. I loved that boat. It was a rocket. unfortunately it developed Hull blisters real bad under the trailer bunks. I ended up trading it in.

That sounds good. I’ve already had it on Guntersville a couple of times.

If your motor is an 3.0 liter efi, you got a magical beast!!! I had an 04 with that motor and i have regretted getting rid of it for the past 10 yrs. If you got an 04 with under 300 hours, you are lucky. As for the boat, it is a good one. Adequate size with spead that can run with the 250s

I have an 04 TR 196 with 2002 200 EFI 3.0L running a FURY 25 just tuned to equal a 26 pitch. My hole shot is sluggish and i'm only getting 60 mph top speed. The motor purrs like a kitten and runs great. What the hell am i doing wrong. I expect at least 65+. I'm guessing its the engine height. I have a manual jackplate. Need help on engine height measurements if that is the problem.
