G1 Helix 7 SI transducer upgrade?

Gen 1 Helix SI question. Helping a friend to try to make his imaging better. He currently has the compact transducer. I plugged an HDSI into the unit and could not find "select transducer" in the sonar menu, or any options for SI frequency 455\800. I'm pretty sure the H7 will only ping 455, but is there a way to select the HDSI, or is it the default transducer when it's plugged in? Tried two different HDSI ducers. Thank you

You cannot add 800 kHz with a menu change or transducer change.
You can only improve the images that 455 kHz produces by using the HDSI transducer which is longer and has longer SI piezos.
It has nothing to do with the transducer, it's the unit's capability.

That's what I thought Wayne. Thanks. So if I plug the HDSI in the unit will use that without any menu selection, correct?

There is NO setting for the HDSI transducer, Compact Side Scan is the only setting to have 2D sonar and Side Imaging.
