    Mega 360 stabilizer

Any recommendations on a stabilizer for the Mega 360? Mine hasn’t came yet but figured I should be ready. I’ve seen the boatlogix and TSAS models and that’s about it. Anyone have any preference between the two. Boatlogix is double the price. Do you even need one? Thanks

Depends on how rough the water gets where you navigate.

A couple of years ago some pros were removing the Ultrex 360 and laying it on the deck under the rod strap when fishing Champlain and one of the Great Lakes. Some were putting a Styrofoam block between the shafts or a strap holding them together.
The MEGA 360 weighs .5# more than the 360.

I'm wanting to get one for mine, anyone have experience with either? I'm leaning towards the Boatlogix model.

How you manage your transducer cable if you have a transducer on the bottom of the motor will determine if one of those braces will work for you. No problem with a built-in transducer.
The Transducer Shield and Saver version doesn't involve the motor shaft, the Boatlogix version does.
I could not use the Boatlogix version since I fish in timber/stumps and don't want any part of my submerged cables away from the motor shaft when the motor is deployed.

I noticed that. I'll have to cut all my wire ties and redo them and get some slack in the cables to allow the head to spin it's full distance. It didn't look like from their website that the cables stuck out too far and I haven't run into having timber, etc getting that close to my Ultrex. It's also $250 with shipping which is a little steep considering they probably produce the product for half or less of that...

I bought a Boatlogix for mine. I looked at the others but as you know you get what you pay for. It is presion made and works great. Had it out on Toledo Bend in 2 to 3 footers and it never moves. One reason the oil leaks on the Gen 1 360 is because they were taking a beating on long runs in rough water. I am very pleased with mine.
Also depending on how many cables you have going down to transducers etc. on the motor you can just lay the cables in the slotted shaft and the bushing inside the bracket never touches the cables as it rotates around them.

Instead of wire ties use these....you can reuse them over and over and over.

From what I’ve seen with my m360 I don’t feel stabilizers are necessary unless you’re running some serious big water. The head portion of the transducer does seem to jiggle slightly when towing and when in rough water but it doesn’t seem to bounce/bang around. I ran some rough white cap water in 20-25mph wind this weekend that caused a tournament to be cancelled and still didn’t feel like I needed a stabilizer for it. Just my 2 cents from experience not speculation. Could also depend on how rough your boat rides.

I went ahead and ordered the BoatLogix model.

I fish the Great Lakes at least once a year and at times the lakes I fish down south can get nasty too. Even when I'm just creeping forward at 4-8 mph it shakes, so this can't hurt.

I’ll be curious on your opinions of it. They are pricey but may consider it.

Hopefully I can make it up north this spring and give it a good test on the Great Lakes. I'll try to remember to report back...

i just installed the 360 stabilizer bracket from Transducer Saver, on sale now for $99. Very happy with the quality, its very stable. I couldn't bring myself to spend the $229.00 plus shipping on the Boatlogic one, although it sure does look nice!

Got my Boatlogix in and installed today. Seems tough and is high quality. The test will be up north this spring in the true "big water"...

I seen somewhere that the 360 for a Fortrex TM doesn’t need a brace because of its shorter length. Not sure it’s true.....

The Fortrex is 12" shorter than the Ultrex. PLUS the attachment to the pod shaft is a lot lower than an Ultrex:

I have the transducer shield and saver model and it was a waste of money. Didn’t work at all and my pod still shook like crazy in big water. I still take mine off like Palaniuk does and it’s fine. Hard for me to spend the 250 bucks on the boat logix model when that too might not even solve the issue. I have a buddy that just installed the cheaper one on his trolling motor so I’ll see how that goes.
