Earliest I ever got out was April 2nd 2012, a week before Easter that year and it was a Madison county lake. This year might breat that since the forecast is calling for 45 or higher for 14/15 days

Late April for me. I only fish Chautauqua, Lake Erie and Presque Isle in Pa. Early season if the wind allows I fish Erie. If it is an all day blow, I run to Presque Isle. If I only want to fish a couple hours in the morning I fish Chautauqua. Of course if there are still Steelhead in the tribs, I leave the boat at camp and fly fish for Steelhead.

Just an FYI, Onondaga is completely open. Drive by it going to the mall today and it was white caps out there. Sounds like early April will be good

We fished Erie in late January this year for perch, eyes and smallmouth. Never know what you're gonna get into out there. Keuka we also get out all winter if the launch is open.

Some small lakes near me open up mid February. Little late this year but I've been out twice so far. Home full size lake (Saratoga) usually opens up by first couple weeks in April and I'm out every chance I get from there. Looks like it might be in late March this year.

I fish Little Sodus in May and it’s one of my favorite trips. Last year best 5 was right around 23. Never fished sodus, I’ve always stuck to fair haven cause the state park ramp is great and we used to have a camp at Grants in Fair Haven so it’s also a nostalgic trip
