Headed down to Camp Shelby Ms. on Friday. I was told there was a really good fishing lake on base. Is this true? Anyone have any experience with this body of water? I know there are quite a few vets on here.

Try the Mississippi board. I’m not far from there but I have never heard anything about walker lake.
I've been to Camp Shelby about 8 times. I did see a lake once, my unit used to have a water purification team and I think they got water from the lake. I didn't know we were allowed to fish it though. I can't say I would want to go back just to fish but Ft Irwin and Ft Hood aren't to my liking and I would love to go back to Shelby for training, if I could fish down there that would be awsome.
