    Question Water Pump Kit

I ordered part# 46-96148 A8 kit to service water pump. Does this kit come with gasket and O rings for below water pump base to seperate the LU oil?

I noticed the barbed fitting for water speedo had nothing connected. Should I plug this?

It will be a big help to have two studs to use in the housing holes, that will keep all the parts aligned as you are pushing everything down. You can buy two bolts and cut off the heads.

Is this bottom base easy to get without damaging? I’m getting ready to take apart and didn’t get a replacement base.

Two screwdrivers can be used to easily walk the base up and out of the case.

Note that it's a tiny bit easier if you've removed the VENT (gear lube) screw.

That's how I remove mine, and for those of us who don't do this all the time, a little patience helps too.

Thank you for all the input. Came apart and reinstalled no issues. Kit didn’t come with lower oil seal for bottom base.

Update, got 14 psi on muffs never had that before, but not water out motor. I tested without a prop and one head got to 100 degrees and the other went above 150 degrees so I shut it down. I checked lines for any blocks, nothing.

    What should I check next?

How long did you wait? Don’t know your motor specifically but most EFI motors the pee stream comes from the thermostats and will not open until the thermostats open, usually they start opening at 143 degrees. But I’m not an expert and I don’t know specifically what a Super Mag is.

After reading other posts regarding no water steam I removed thermostats and tested both ok. After reinstalling thermostats I had water stream in 2 minutes with engine on muffs.

    Should I replace thermostats anyways?
