The big O has been a punishing ground on motors this week. Lots of sand, aquatic debris, and muck, running through the water pump, thermostats, and passages. Their on the water reporter totaled his lower unit from impact.

Yep - he doesn't have a chance to win. It is tough being a fisherman, the stress must be unbelievable. Must take special breathing techniques to maintain that level of calmness.

If you’ve ever seen Zach a woman’s small wouldn’t be tight on him. He’s a little guy.

I have seen a couple videos lately where some of the guys fishing the Florida swing in BASS, MLF, and FLW have their engines trimmed as high as they can blowing mud everywhere. That can't help the longevity.

Not much different than any race car driver. Run it Wide Open and hope it holds together. Now if they couldn't get a replacement or ride in with someone in the Keep Fish events that may make a difference. I would bet Rude will use that engine as a development data point.

No, it was an Evinrude, Chief. https://www.bassmaster.com/slideshow...er-unit-change

Wrong Roosterman that was a G2 Evinrude. He switched to Yamaha soon after.

Believe that was an Evinrude, he quickly switched to Yamaha in the middle of that season.

My bad. Not a G2 though. But was an evinrude. I was with him later that year and thought he ran a sho. Must’ve switched after that. I don’t blame him.

He’s had a rough day. Zach said the lock master was on lunch and he didn’t have time to wait for him. Said he wasn’t doing his job. Sure hope he can climb the leaderboard

Just watched that, can the guy really just get up and leave like that? I have no idea the rules written and unwritten about going through a lock.

Next question, is the guy on the forum here hahaha.

You hate to see that happen to anyone. Maybe he won’t constantly talk about how he has the fastest boat on tour anymore though.

That's a G1 and I spoke to the tech that replace the lower. When Ranger rigged the motor they mis-adjusted the shift cable causing to be hard to shift. Which led to a shift fork failure in the gearcase. Tharp switched to Yamaha soon after. Before he was with Evinrude he was with Mercury.
