    MSI+ Transducer Discolored

Anyone have a problem with their MSI+ transducer getting discolored on the face? It's mounted to a stern saver and wonder if any of the chemicals used might have caused it. Also, would this have any effect on its performance. It's about 6 months old and been in the water a handful of times.

Looks like the adhesive from the Stern Saver is what is covering the transducer.

The surface feels like the unaffected areas...just wondering if there is anyway to restore the discoloration or just live with it if it won't cause any performance issues.

What does the top of the transducer look like?

Could some liquid have dripped on it from above, run down the side where the three streaks are and been smeared over the rest of the transducer when you were on the water?

Ahh...I think you nailed it with that one Wayne. I used Marine goop to fill in behind the gap in the mounting bracket to curb the rooster tail and I prolly over filled it. However, there is no residue on the bottom face or sides. It's smooth just like it was new. I think some of the chemicals between the sternsaver epoxy and the marine goop combined were maybe not completely cured before took it on the water.. Now I wonder If I should let it ride or get some transducer paint.

Thanks for helping me think this thru Wayne!!

If I was in Shreveport, I'd just go fishing.

If the white won't come off, color it with a Sharpie and go fishin.

If it bothers you, spend $400 on another transducer, then go fishin.
