Ky Lake was a fantastic fishery when we had grass. Government couldn't let
it alone. When the grass died so did the good fishing. LDS

Have you bid on state contracts before? Its a pretty in depth process, pretty much eliminate the chance of what you are describing from happening.

The Chief Financial Officer (co-owner) of Applied Aquatics is also a employee with the FWC.
She also sits on the board of the FWC which decides how much spraying "needs" to be done. They get the contracts from the state. I honestly don't know how these people sleep at night...

I keep waiting to read where one of these applicators gets shot. People do crazy things when backed into a corner.

I thought Asian carp ruined Ky Lake? No?

I wish I shared your confidence in the system but sadly, my time around state projects disabused me of that notion. There were dozens of ways to pad the bid and grease palms than you could shake a stick at. And this is in Maine! I can't imagine what it's like in some of the areas run by the mob or other good ole boys.

I give you guys some insight as to what I have personally seen firsthand on Florida lakes, here goes. Both examples are on the Harris chain. 1st - they claim the spraying is done to navigation areas and it's for the invasive non native grasses only, example hydrilla, why on earth would the FWC sprays all the shore line pad fields on little lake Harris. They did this about 1 calendar year ago. Those fields have been there or should I say used to be there for 30 years. No one drives their boats that close to the shore.

Example 2 - also last year on Big Harris. We saw 3 guys in a spray boat out in the middle of the lake in 12 foot of water spraying. I thought dam that is one awesome hydrilla patch to be growing that deep, so I idled around the spray boat, there was not 1 blade of hydrilla on my side scan as I went around that boat repeatedly. I idled a hundred yards around that boat and did not find one blade of hydrilla. So do not tell me they do not have a spray quota. They were spraying nothing. They just wanted to get rid of the poison so they can get paid.

Yes, elections have consequences. As someone pointed out the other day, the politicians advocating for your Second Amendment rights might also be turning a blind eye to the clean water regulations or the impacts of killing all aquatic vegetation. Just something to think about.
