Garmin LiveScope - Perspective Mode

Yeah thats what I'm wondering, whats the field of view. It says it only sees out to 50ft, so its 1/3 of what Mega 360 is. It is live though which is appealing and no need for another unit and ducer. This will really appeal to guys like me who are running lowrance wanting to add 360 or livescope as it kind of makes that decision easy. Depth is the only concern now.

Yeah everything I;ve seen so far shows that 200ft forward is true, so whats the 50ft about? Is that our depth range?

You laugh, but for the guys that already have Livescope, this is a very easy adapter and costs very little to upgrade. It also has a live image rather than a snapshot in time and wait for the sonar to spin. Live is going to be much more effective. I will give it to Humminbird on image quality for the Mega 360, but this is a truly great addition for guys running the Garmin system. It just reduced my expenditure for next season by about $3,000 as I was gonna do a Helix 10 and Mega 360. Don't need to now.

100% on that buddy! I was going to invest in Mega 360 and a couple new Birds. But now i can wait and save my money for other boating accessories! Live Scope is the Real DEAL!

And there it is. 50ft is plenty more than enough. Just ordered my 106SV and Livescope setup with BBG marine. Cant wait now!

You can basically do the same thing if you have SideVu. Just turn your trolling motor to the side and cast the beams inline with your hull. I used to do that with my HB 898 SI unit when I had it mounted on the bow.

You can basically do the same thing if you have SideVu. Just turn your trolling motor to the side and cast the beams inline with your hull. I used to do that with my HB 898 SI unit when I had it mounted on the bow.

You can do that with any sidescan unit, problem is its a sweeping view like 360, this is a real time live view. Point and watch, no need to re-scan or wait for the unit to come back around and scan.

To cool you guys even more, even without the coming software update, you can get the perspective view by turning off auto view switch (down, forward). Just mount the transducer sideway. You just need to understand what you see on your screen in vertical direction is actually the side direction of your boat.

Anyway, with the software update, the view switching becomes automatical, and the view is a little more instinct.

Not live images but SideVU sonar view. You can still locate cover and fish this way which honestly is the only reason that I see to turn the transducer on its side.

Anyone know if the new mount will be immediately compatible with the pole from Fishing Specialties? I can't tell if the down-reach will be enough or not to clear the bottom of the pole.

I hope it is! Garmin doesnt have the ID of the mount. I think FS pole is 1.5" .

Thats not what this is for. If you're fishing vertically livescope is your deal along with 2d chirp. This is for scanning around you for fish/structure/cover not directly below. Right tool for the right job, you dont use SI for vertical fishing.
