Import settings on Solix

Every time I upgrade my solix SW I save my menu settings to an SD Card.

Do the upgrade and try to import the saved settings and everytime it fails!
I get a box that pops up and says "Import failed" Really frustrating, I have upgraded numerous times and each time it fails.

Takes so much effort and time to reset everything, very frustrating.

Anyone else have an issue with this?

I have a G1 and a G2 and it happens on both

Do you save the current settings before you do an update, or are you trying to use an old saved settings file?

I save the settings to an SD card right before the update, last thing I do...

I have done it several times with ONIX and SOLIX and they always reload unless it's one that has been stated they won't reload when there is a big menu change.
I have 5 saved menu settings files on the memory card in my SOLIX now for 2019, all of them have reloaded at the time I did them.

I have the same issue and always do the Settings Save right before I load the new software. I don't think I have ever gotten the settings from the previous software to load onto the new software. I always get the infamous "not compatible with this SW version" message. This also occurred when I went from a Solix G1 to a Solix G2. The G2 initially had a back level of SW so I updated the G2 to the same level as the G1 and tried the "import" again and it failed again.

I keep hoping that one day it will be successful and save me the rework time.

Having to re-setup everything from default is a real PIA... I used to get excited for updates and now I dont look forward to them.
I still have the settings saved from my old updates on the card and when it asks for me to choose settings to import the description is cut off on the little box where you view them

Just took this screen shot of the Files I have on the memory card in the unit. The day the settings are saved is displayed so there is no doubt which one to select to reload.
The bottom one listed is the last time I saved the settings.

My pop-up window doesn't show enough of the date to tell which one is which.
I think I guessed the most current one on top.

When you scroll through the files, the whole file name scrolls right to left and you can read the whole name.
You can also put the memory card in your computer and read the file names, delete the older ones from the memory card.

Most current will be the bottom one(refer to Waynes screenshot)

It exports just fine to the card... Only thing on that page I see is the encryption for the card. I have never encrypted the card but I am fairly sure that is not a requirement for export/import of settings.

The encrypt folder has nothing to do with it. All units get the encrypt folder on an unlocked card automatically now.

Thats what I figured, just had to add that incase I was missing something.
BTW... This is happening on both of my Solix, I have a G1 Mega and a G2 Mega.

Is it possible I need to manually set to defaults after the upgrade and then import?... Grasping at straws at this point, lol

Such a pain to reconfigure everything, hope I can figure it out someday...

Restore defaults should be done before an update and after the update is complete.
A pre-install restore defaults is built-in the software so you get that whether you choose to do it or not.
So many failed updates have occurred due to owners not following the instrucations, it was added to the software.

I read somewhere that restore defaults was built into the process, I just figured it was on both ends of the update not just pre-install.

I will throw one last hail mary and go restore defaults-restart the unit-try to import settings.
If that doesnt work then I guess the Humminbird gremlins win...

I had some success...

Restore defaults - Improt Settings.. seemed to work but I am not yet convinced the settings came over as my noise filer was not set where it was and the unit name didnt take either, It did take the import and went through the motions, so a step in the right direction for sure.

I didnt realize the unit didnt reset defaults after an update...
