    Clarks Hill Help

Hey guys, coming to clarks hill for the first time for the BBT. Really appreciate any help anyone could offer. Never been there and really don’t have any clue what to expect. Thanks

If the lake is down be VERY CAREFUL. Shallows can be unmarked. I lost a LU and brand new prop. What time of the year are you going?

Right now the lake is up 4' over full pool. Open link below. Timber was topped 3' under full pool. So full pool or higher mainly watch out for shallow bars. You are fairly safe below the 278 bridge and below Raysville bridge up the Ga. little river. Above those bridges lots of standing but topped timber.
I don't know what's happening this time of year as I usually fish it in late April early May for the herring spawn. But I plan on starting on points and working in trying to find them. This lake has lots of big bass, but they are long lean bass. IF you jig fish, the mop jig is the best. This is also the lake where the Carolina rig was born.
    Good luck to you.

I"ll be there too, staying at the White Columns Inn in Thomson.

Water temp mid to upper 50’s last I looked . Hydrilla is about gone . I don’t know off any but still maybe a little somewhere. Dog fennel is submerged.Couple of local guys have been killing it lately. Big sacks with some donkeys.
