splicing power pole wires

upgraded my power poles and thinking about just cutting the red wires off existing pumps and just splicing in the new pumps...bad idea?? I think these were wired from ranger factory and they go to some type of switch box that's next to impossible to get to..

If you solder and heat shrink you wont have an issue. Make sure the factory fuse holders from the new pumps remain in place however. Splice after them

I did the cut and solder on mine

however I put each hot wire on a toggle switch so they don’t drain my batteries
