    Humminbird updates

Any need to do the updates if units are working correctly?

Depends on what an update is for and if you have the need for what the update involves.

I always like to keep all my electronics at the latest SW level. I think the slight risk of introducing new issues far outweighs the advantages of new function and issue fixes.

Got it kind of twisted, but I think I know what you're trying to say. I am, I think, the opposite. IE: I agree with your second sentence.

Edited and added the word "introducing" in my post. See if that makes more sense now.

If the latest update is is all about Mega 360, why update if you don't even have 360? Why load your unit's processor with add'l code that you don't need or use? Normally, the more code your unit has to process, the slower it becomes. Exception, of course, is when an update includes fixes that make your unit run better.

I guess I'm being "pedantic", as I know what you're trying to say but being picky about how you're saying it. If the risk outweighs the advantages, you DON'T do updates. No biggie, just a little backwards.

"More stuff" can be included but not listed.

How would we know that "more stuff" was include or not? If more "stuff" was included, why would HB not list it, especially if that "stuff" had value to the owner of the unit?

Simple, install it and find out.

Some install software versions that cause issues, don't know that until the install is done.

I sure don't advertise my faults! Some are apparent to some but some not. Thankfully. Bob
