Transducer help please

I have this posted in Lowrance forum but no definitive answers yet. I need to mount a Lowrance 3D xdcr. If I flush mount on the step of my Ranger, will I run into any issues considering I already have a HB thru hull right in the center of my step? Of course I will not run the transducers at the same time. Or will I get better results mounting on my Jack Plate? I like idea of no more holes in the boat and I am going back and forth on this. TIA

I had a 3D ducer on the step of my 520c and have a glassed in factory 2D ducer. Now have a 3-in-1 ducer. No issues. If you don't want holes though that an easy call.
