Same thing here. If I remember right, last year it was only $50.00 to re-new the card I already had/used. I had the choice of regional card or a United States & Canada card at about the same cost. Why do they even offer the choice when the Large Card covers the whole thing instead of just a few States?

As long as your card has enough space the updates should load on the card you have. But if you have an older card (and small) card there will not be enough space for updating and you only get the option of a new card. That new card usually comes with a 50% discount when you already have a card, and the old one can be kept as backup.
The size on your card is on the Micro SD, new ones here in Europe are 8 or 16GB.
