    Battery for 4 Humminbirds

Looking into a independent battery for my electronics. I have 4 Helix 10 units and will have Mega 360 soon. Not an electrical nut so I need some help in looking for a battery that will run these units for a 12 hour day. Can anyone suggest a battery for this?

4 helix 10s will draw approximately 6 amps, I think I saw that the mega 360 draws about half an amp. I'd round up and say your units with mega 360 are drawing 7 amps.

7 amps x 12 hours =84 amps. If I understand all this battery stuff correctly, if using a lead acid battery you can only use about 50percent of the amp hours before you start to really shorten the life expectancy of the battery. I wouldn't want to use anything less than 160 reserve capacity, a larger reserve capacity would be better. You wouldn't be drawing down the battery as low and would get more charging cycles before having to replace it.

Lithium batteries are a different story. If I understand correctly you can use 100 percent of the capacity without damage, so a 100 reserve capacity lithium would do the job.

you are right and to add. A 100ah lead acid is really like a 70ah. So short answer is a normal agm or lead acid will not last 12 hours. You options are run 2 100ah agm in parallel which will give you about 140ah it usable power combined and you will probably be able to fish 20 hours no problem. Or get a single 100ah lithium battery and you will be fine for probably 12-14 hours. Normally 2 group 31 100ah agm batteries weigh 65lbs each. So 130lbs total plus the space they take up. A 100ah lithium is 30lbs. Agm cost about 200-350 bucks each so you are looking at 400-700 bucks of agm or spend 900-1,000 bucks on a lithium. In other words get a lithium.

Sounds about right! Now we just need to find a good deal on some Lithiums so that we can all start enjoying more power with less weight!

Been running 4( 2 onix 1 solid and now a garman )plus 360 and livescope, for 2 yrs now on a relion 100 ah.. havent had a problem cranking the motor.. the graphs I'm not using I'll put in standby..
Also alot of the problems I had with my onix units went away when I switched..I feel it's because of the consistent power of the lithium..

Does that battery act as your cranking battery also?
