Has anyone ever put braid on a spin cast reel and did it work okay?

The cheap ones I don’t think will handle it. My brother has the Zebco Bullet for his girlfriend and it handles braid great. It’s a pretty sweet reel for a closed face. Sucker is about a $100 though.

I put some PP 20 on a Zebco Rhino that my mother uses,it works fine.

Put 20# on my daughters cheap zebco and it worked fine.

Last summer I spooled both my granddaughters Disney "Frozen" rods with 10# braid....works great.

I run 65# braid on Stradic and Curado reels, splice to 6 feet 10# flouro, handles great, never twists.

Has anyone ever put braid on a spin cast reel and did it work okay?

With braids that have a coating on them the coating can gum up the pin and bell housing and even slightly stick to itself. A spray of line conditioner fixes it quickly.
