Speed limit on the Saint John's River

Is the speed limit on the SJR active and enforced?

Do the Pros abide by the speed limit? Seems like they would not want to make longer runs at 35 mph

Any part that borders Volusia County (from Lake George to Lake Monroe) is periodically monitored and enforced, especially around Astor and Crows Bluff. No speed limits south of Lake Monroe except for one around Lemon Bluff.

Didn't know there was one. We put in at the town docks in Palatka and headed towards lake George. Had plenty of boats blow by us WOT. We were just cruising along getting a feel for the river.

That would explain it, I've never been on the river north of George. Thanks!

Be carefull what you put on here, the FWC watches this. They are liable to post up somewhere around the 44 bridge waiting for ya now. FWC showed up at my door step about two years ago just because I joked about getting into with the sprayers in the airboats. I was fishing a tx in Rousseau and they were staying/spraying at the same time. They were also in the same hotel...The Dinner Bell. I joked on these boards that my wife will have to come down and bail me out of jail after me and the sprayers go round and round. They took that as a threat. I guess they have no sense of humor or common sense. I won the tx with something like 26 pnds.

Everyone else is though.. Know too many people who get too many tickets on this river. I-4 to 44, I'd stay under "wide open" for sure.. lol Have seen em at 1st and last light, any day of the week.
