    Cranking battery

Is there an updated list from Bass Cat on recommended cranking batteries for the new 250 Mercury 4 stroke. I’ve heard it needs to be an AGM but didn’t know if a list was made?

Northstar 31 series AGM is one of the best, and has served me well.
whatever brand, be sure it is a 31 series.

We just refer to purchasing the heaviest one today as there are many available. They are right in a Northstar being an great AGM battery. That is a very good company and the batteries are expensive.

The Northstar/Batteries Plus X2 or the Odyssey PC 2150 will be the best bet as long as you have a high quality AGM charger. It definitely needs an AGM as specified by Mercury.

(BTW, in October, EnerSys, the parent company of Odyssey, bought Northstar.)

Yes ,that is the Northstar. It is available in three different terminal configurations ( stud, post, or both). The marine version has both (NSB 31 AGM M)

I’ve had an Odyssey 2150 for 9 months and am very happy with it. I run 15 and 12 Solix’s on it and it almost never throws a low volt alarm on the start. My previous battery was the big Pro Guide and it wouldn’t keep up.

That X 900 AGM is a rebadged Northstar. Better warranty and pricing if you get it at Batteries Plus (order on line and pick it up for discount)

This, but I have a 250 SHO, not a Mercury
