    As long as the fertilizer companies and the farmers are giving the middle finger to the "suggestions" put out by our so called governing bodies nothing will change. It may be too late now. EPA enforcement powers were stripped by Bush jr. and since about 2004 the water quality has steadily dropped.

    It's not just the farmers the cities up there pump millions of gallons of untreated sewer into the lakes every time they have excessive rainfall that inundate the treatment plants. They all do it about every time there is a heavy rain. Called storm water intrusion and the epa let's them get away with it as well.
