    Exclamation Humminbird Tech Staff Reminder

This is a reminder to the Humminbird Tech Staff that there are Two (2) confirmed bugs in the Solix that have yet to be addressed

Tested on Solix Mega G1 10” and 12” units w/v3.640rB and confirmed by your staff
Default settings except User Mode is set to Custom
Standalone (No Network) – But does have the same issues when networked

    FIRST CONFIRMED BUG:
    Heading Sensor Offset:
With AS GPS HS Heading sensor GPS antenna
    Home >Settings >Network >Under Sensor Port >NEMA 0183(1) >Data Offset >Heading Adjustment
You can turn this option on and adjust the offset Plus or Minus 30 degrees
and you do see this effect the heading line

    THE PROBLEM
It does not save this data when the unit is shut off, as soon as you turn the unit on it defaults this option back to the “OFF” configuration

    SECOND CONFIRMED BUG:
    Temperature Offset:
    Home >Settings >Network > Under Sensor Port >Temp Sensor
By turning off the "Auto-Select" you can turn on the Temperature Offset and adjust this number Plus or Minus 15 degrees

    THE PROBLEM
It does not actually change/effect the displayed temperature

    NOTE:
The only mention of Temperature Offset in the manual is under the NEMA 0183 ports
    Home >Settings >Network >Under Sensor Port >NEMA 0183(1) >Data Offset > Temperature Offset
Since this option will not highlight I assume it’s for networked sensors

They don't ??? That is what the HB heading sensor communicates on. If you use their HS you care.

Someone that I know has firsthand knowledge, and further, has no reason to lie, told me that humminbird only has one developer writing code for their units.

This certainly does explain why updates and resolutions to issues are usually not the fastest, and also why QC on the updates sometimes seems a bit "lax". It's very difficult to QC your own code...

Not doubting your sincerity but at first glance that's hard to believe. I hope that isn't truly the case.

Since I work in the IT field, part of me wants to believe it's not true, but being that I'm in consulting and have seen the shoestring-level staffing many companies have, I fear it's closer to the truth than any would like to admit.

If I told you guys the name of who told me this, I'm sure at least 90% of you would instantly recognize the name.

Try fresh walleye and real onions all deep fried. May make your outlook rosier. No PBR down here either. The Corona down here is the good kind! All post spawn and biting! Bob

The Governor still has a 14 day quarantine for hot spot states. MI is one, don't remember on WI. The state campgrounds open up next week I believe.

Back to the point of the OP

These 2 bugs have been part of the original release and known and confirmed for more than a year so now that they are past the M360 software upgrades I'm hoping they will take care of these before they come out with something new that requires more updates that will put these at the back of the bus again
