The part number you mention is the conventional multi-function gauge. An analog gauge really with a digital display. RPM, low oil pressure warning, over temperature warning and trim bars.
I am not familiar with the Mercury Smart Craft gauge but suspect that it is fully digital. Which might be similar to a Yamaha Command Link gauge. Provides all of the conventional gauge information plus engine hours, fault codes, temperature scale, etc.
