Just bought Helix 12 SI and Helix 10 DI, should I keep 999ci?

I just bought helix 12 for my console and a helix 10 for the bow. Should I keep my 999 at the console and just run it on mapping while I use 12 on full screen SI? Or is that really needed?

The only reason I ask is I see more and more guys using 2 units at the console.

That is a good plan, I don't like to give up sonar screen space, especially Side Imaging,

for mapping

Same boat im in. Get a cheap unit for mapping and 2d. Save the good screen space for DI/SI

I have an extra Helix GN1 DI that I thought about using as a map only however....I use autochart live a lot. I think the only way this would work is to record on the main unit then swap out to the map monitor unit when done?

or are you all linking them somehow?

i think you could just network to your puck with both. Autochart should record on your helix abs your 999 will likely still remain just regular map. All I want the map for on the console is mainly running and checking SI on helix so I can have the full screen.

A unit that does not have Auto Chart Live cannot create it or display it.

Certainly do, same applies no matter what two models are involved. I have used three units at the console with one dedicated to mapping.

Yep get that Wayne. The map monitor would be the GN1 DI unit and the sonar unit would be a GN2 mega si (the special bass pro Cabela’s release version). Both have autochart live capabilities.
