    Guntersville question

Have a trip down to Guntersville in a month, keep seeing all the reports of flooding and more rain coming. How long does it take for the lake to get decent again after flooding like this? When does the rain need to stop by, will be an 11 hour tow. Would rather not do 11 hours of towing to get to a screwed up lake.....

Flooding like this spring or last takes several days rain free or almost rain free. TVA was spilling 2.5 million gallons per SECOND for several days a week ago. They are still over 1.5 million. After the rain stops they have quite a bit of water to get rid of.
TVA has a website that forecasts spillage for each dam 2-3 days.
Spillage will be given in cubic feet per second. Not sure on Guntersville but I would guess less than 30,000 cubic feet for a couple days might be Ok

Based on last year it will take a month for the lake to normalize

Unless you are a guide or can fish it everyday, Guntersville is pretty tough right now. Still pretty muddy and cold. Always fish being caught but it is tough

Yep it’s tough on Guntersville right now. I fished there last weekend, caught some fish but it was S L O W.

    Thanks for the replies, but......

My wife hurt her back over the weekend, still trying to figure out exactly what the injury is and with a couple other things going on I backed out of the trip. Found someone else to go with my partner for the week. Bummer to miss the trip but it is for the best.
