mega transducer to non mega unit

I just wanted to be sure, I have a Helix 12 SI/DI non mega unit and looking at a new Ultrex with the si/di mega built in, am I right to assume the Helix 12 will work fine with this unit it will just not have mega quality views but rather the same views I have always had?

No, your first generation Helix 12 CHIRP SI GPS does NOT have HW CHIRP capability.

Both the Minnkota MDI and MSI transducers have 2D piezos that are Low-Q HW CHIRP 140-240 kHz.
